Welcome to the Surrey Pickleball Club’s 2017 Gip ‘n Rip Tournament!
Sent on behalf of your Tournament Committee
We are very excited about the first Grip ‘n Rip Tournament and even more excited that you are joining us!! With 138 players we are sure to have some great play!
We are planning on making a go of this tournament as scheduled on September 9 & 10.  Although, the forecast is calling for light rain on Saturday – it’s very minimal, less the 1mm, and forecast to stop early in the day.
Check in: Players are required to check in at least 30 minutes prior to their event start time.  If the tournament is running early your event could start up to 30 minutes before your scheduled start time. You must check in each day you play!
Participants: It’s very important that you check the event player list/events/brackets on www.pickleballtournaments.com to ensure that you and your partner are in the correct events.  Click here to show events/brackets
We recommend players/spectators bring lawn chairs to watch the games. In addition make sure you have lots of fluids to hydrate, bring lunch and snacks.
Format: Skill divisions 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 double elimination with winners games played 2 out of 3 to 11 win by 1 and consolation games played 1 to 15 win by 1. The 4.5 & 5.0 divisions have been combined in women’s doubles.
Balls: Durafast 40 Outdoor Ball
Food: R.E.C. for KIDS Society is setting up a refreshment table.  Support this local charity – they will have power drinks, water, and sodas for players.  Cost is by donation or $1.00 per item.  In addition, the recreation centre has a café that has sandwiches, salads, etc.
Play Schedule: Schedule of play for all events is posted on pickleballtournaments.com and can be accessed by clicking on this link: Schedule of Play. Brackets are subject to change until each event starts.
Good luck everyone!
